If you have an interest in traditional Eastern Europe and/or Jewish music or just love a good concert then a treat we have for you! Filmed in concert at Oakland's Temple Sinai was a collaboration of the Bay Area women's vocal ensemble Kitka and Davka - a hybrid jazzed quartet with violin cello, bassoon and percussionist. The two groups work old and new melodies from around the world and deliver it in Yiddish, Russian, Hebrew, Bulgarian and Libino (medieval Spanish dialect.) The sweeping and hauntingly captivating songs and music is simply soul stirring as if the ancient is speaking through the artists. Gig alert!
