After turning away eager bodies from previous venues, the fourth-annual globalFEST moves to Webster Hall to sate local appetites for (don't call it) world music. Founded to celebrate our melting pot of ethnicity and facilitate travel for artists hindered by post-9/11 "security enhancements," globalFEST spotlights modern takes and cross-continental hybrids of more traditional genres. This year, Left Coast surf rockers Dengue Fever update '60s psychedelia and Cambodian garage; Palenque and crooner Lucia Pulído pay experimental homage to the chirimia, Colombia's equivalent to our subway buskers; and France's Les Primitifs du Futur blend turn-of-the-century musette with Django-esque guitar.  01/16/07
