Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, CD Review >>
World music fans should be thrilled with GeoRemixed: Big Beats For A Small Planet. The digital-only release is from National Geographic media, an offshoot from National Geographic magazine. The 13 songs of unreleased tracks and remixes are designed to show how electronica and hip-hop have influenced many musicians around the world. On the CD: the music of X Plastaz, with its Maasai tribal influence; Bole 2 Harlem, which embraces Ethiopian styles; Pacha Massive, a bilingual mix of dub, trip-hop, and funk from the Bronx, and OMFO, which adds electronica to Ukrainian bagpipes, flute, and jaw harp. 04/02/07
