By MARTY LIPP

This Chicago-based group plays various regional folk styles from Mexico, adding in a few unexpected elements, such as its adaptation of the Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 and a cover of "Four Sticks" from Led Zeppelin.

While the group plays with contagious energy and a sweet elegance, it gives the music resonance with some social relevance: it includes interview clips discussing immigration and the title song pointedly reworks Woody Guthrie's "This Land is Your Land." A few well-played tunes will not end the immigration debate in this country, but the ensemble's talent and soulfulness make it easier to embrace our neighbor to the south and its rich cultural heritage.
