The hills are alive with music this Labor Day weekend - the Berkshires, that is - at the Tanglewood Jazz Festival, and this year's lineup brings together headliners from across the globe.

The festival is a great reason for final summer getaway in one of the most picturesque areas of the state, while listening to jazz legends like Ahmad Jamal and Marian McPartland on the main stage. In the Jazz Cafe, young trailblazers including teenage saxophonist Grace Kelly, who has performed in Kowloon Restaurant's Music Drives Us concerts and with jazz luminaries.

Located in pastoral Lenox, summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Tanglewood Jazz Festival jives from Friday night, Aug. 31, 'til Sunday night, Sept. 2. This year's festival, sponsored by Cunard, Borders Books and Music and JazzTimes Magazine, boasts a sterling lineup and something new - all day lawn passes on Saturday and Sunday for $33. When Hugh Ramopolo Masekela sang and played piano as a child in Witbank, South Africa, it was apparent he was born to be a musician, and he has been delighting audiences globally since then. He has appeared and toured with his former wife, the legendary Miriam Makeba, Herb Alpert, Paul Simon's Graceland, and countless others. He continues to tour and record, spreading his message of peace, unity and harmony through music, with his voice and flugelhorn.
