Zimbabwean music tonight; Chris Botti on Saturday

Oliver Mtukudzi, who first attracted attention in the late 1970s as his native Zimbabwe approached independence, will perform with his band, the Black Spirits, at 7 tonight at The Grand.

Mtukudzi's latest album, "Tsimba Itsoka," was released Aug. 28. Translated literally as "No foot, no footprint," its title is the theme that links its 12 songs.

The concert is co-sponsored by the Arden Concert Gild.
