*** out of 5 stars
The venerable South African a cappella choir celebrates the legacy of Shaka Zulu, the 18th-century warrior-king who united the Zulus against the Europeans. While the subject matter might be fiery, LBM's approach remains the same as always: gorgeous, swooping voices that could sing a grocery-store receipt and make it sound like angels on high. While the bulk of the songs are in their tribal tongue and have titles (Umon' Usuk' Esweni) that might prove impenetrable to American listeners, two English tracks -- Prince of Peace and This Is the Way We Do -- prove that LBM's vocal magic works in any language.
