It really is a small world.

My family seems to be somehow cosmically connected with every other family in the universe. It has gotten me far in my life. For instance:
  • My job: my step-mother was the original executive director of the organization. Working there are my step-mother's daughter's mother-in-law (yep, trying drawing my family tree sometime!); a person that used to work for my mother; a person that used to work with my husband; a person that used to work for my step-sister; a person that used to work with me at UMKC; and a person that used to be babysat by my step-mother's daughter's mother-in-law. Are you lost yet? Former employees include another person that used to work with me at UMKC, and a person that used to be in my step-sister's book group.
  • My marriage: I met my husband at UMKC. He worked there because his mother worked there. She worked there because her mother worked there. The family is legend at that place. None of us work there anymore.
  • My massage therapist, Casie: I found her through my husband. He found her through my step-mother. She found her through her best friend. Now Casie massages my step-sisters and their husbands, my co-worker (who is my step-sister's mother-in-law...sounding familiar??) and my other co-worker (who used to work for my mother), my mother and a variety of other more loosely connected friends. While visiting her yesterday, we discovered that she was a big fan of the band, The Wilders. Read on...
  • The Wilders feature a guy named Ike Sheldon, who used to be in the bands, the Young Johnny Carson Story and Wig Newton, which used to feature none other than my own brother, Matt. They also featured a guy named Jeff Brown, with whom I had an English class at UMKC before realizing that he was in a band with my brother. Ike used to live in the house behind my mother-in-law's. **I don't think that's Matt in the YouTube video, is it?? Now, if someone would just upload a performance of "Teriyaki Sue..."** Oh, and while I was looking for a Wilders video, I found this one, filmed in Danville, IN, where my cousins lived. They're the ones that introduced us to the near-Danville Wasatch Lake. AH!

It goes on. Suffice it to say that we are all connected! If you don't think we are, just wait - you'll see....
