376 9th St., Park Slope, Brooklyn (718-965-9177)—March 26: Chicha Libre, something of a local supergroup, includes the cuatro player and vocalist Olivier Conan (a member of Las Rubias del Norte and also one of the owners of this club), the keyboardist Joshua Camp (of One Ring Zero), the bassist Nicholas Cudahy (formerly of Combustible Edison), and the guitarist Vincent Douglas (of Bébé Eiffel, and another owner of the club). They start with South American chicha music (an electrified take on folkloric cumbia that dates back some thirty years) and add psychedelic touches, surf rock, and extended improvisations.
