Les Yeux Noirs “Music of Exile, Love, and Lament” (World Village)

Classicly trained violinists Eric and Oliver Slabiak found the French based ensemble Lews Yeux Noirs (The Black Eyes) in 1992.  The gypsy-klezmer octet pop group, led by the brothers, plays an evocative reinterpretation of Gypsy jazz and Jewish folk music that evokes a variety of emotions.
