Gypsy life is fascinating. It seems so romantic to travel from place to place always experiencing the drastic ups and downs of life in unfamiliar place. And the culture is so colorful, with their traditional dresses, languages and, of course music. At 8pm Wednesday at Kenan Auditorium, 601 S. College Road at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, audiences will experience music through Les Yeux Noirs (French for The Black Eyes), a French string octet.

            The group mixes into their music Gypsy, Jewish and French cultures as well as the influences of Russian , Armenian and Hungarian traditions. The songs are sung in Russian, Yiddish and Roma 02/05/04
