The Sudanese Music and Dance Festival will not take place in Sudan, alas. Chicago and Detroit will host this gathering of musicians and dancers representing the full spectrum of Sudanese culture.
The venerated singer Abdel Gadir Salim will perform, as well as the female vocal group Al Balabil, and Rasha, whose music is at the crossroads of traditional and progressive trends.
For you NBA fans, Sudanese-born Manute Bol will also lend his support onstage.
