Feufollet delivers a tasty blend of songs sung in French and Cajun, that will certainly make listeners sit up and take notice. Cow Island Hop is an album of eleven tracks that deliver a picture perfect snapshot of Feufollet's new Louisiana traditions. The opener is the traditional happy sound of "Prends Courage," the instrumental title track is a spirited cut, trailed by another traditional slice "Eunice Waltz," the smooth "Blues De Dix Ans," the strutting "Madame Bosso," and the double-fiddle favorite "Chere Bebe Creole" marks the halfway mark. Feufollet members include Chris Stafford, Chris Segura, Anna Laura Edmiston, Michael Stafford and Philippe Billeaudeaux. Additional treats have traditional songs as, "Femme L'a Dit," an old Cajun ballad "Sur Le Bord De L'eau" and "Je M'en Vas Dans Le Chemin," sandwiched around "Chere Beth" and the rollicking "Jolie Fille." Cajun music, spoken French, fiddle playing and accordion music — ends up as a dynamic revelation for anyone's ears!
