Paul Taylor’s 80th-birthday celebration continues with a performance by his company in his Airs, Syzygy, and Company B, plus the up-and-comers of Taylor 2 in his signature Esplanade and 3 Epitaphs, with a live score played by the Asphalt Orchestra, 8/5 at 7:30. The International Body Music festival makes its New York debut with performances by Brazil’s Barbatuques, the Bay Area’s Slammin All-Body Band, and more, 8/12 at 7:30. In collaboration with Hip Hop Generation Next, the world premiere of Centrifugal Force blends street dance with postmodern influence from choreographers Gus Solomons Jr., Adesola Osakalumi, and Emilio “Buddha Stretch” Austin Jr., 8/15 at 5. Lucinda Childs’s landmark Dance, a collaboration with Sol LeWitt and Philip Glass, gets a rare performance 8/15 at 7.
