Percussionist and rhythm dancer Keith Terry has been championing body music out West for a while now as the director of the International Body Music Festival (IBMF). But he's never brought the festival here--until tonight. This evening, Lincoln Center Out of Doors presents the New York City debut of the IBMF concert, which will showcase body music from across the Americas, including Terry's own Oakland-based ensemble Slammin. In "Body Music 1," the collective shows off its infectious blend of a cappella singing and beatboxing deeply rooted in rhythmic groove.
