Teslim is an instrumental music CD created by classically-trained violinist Kaila Flexer (violin, viola) and self-taught musican Gari Hegedus (lauto, baglama, bulgari, divan, cura, lavta, oud, viola, tarhu, frame drum and pennywhistle), with contributions from spcial guests Shira Kammen and Julian Smedley (fiddles), Olov Johansson (nyckelharpa), and Liza Wallace (harp). Reveling in the distinctive time signatures found throughout the Balkans, Greece, and Turkey, Telsim embodies not only a syncretic harmony between cultures but also a tribute to the personal friendship between fellow artists.
