On Saturday, "Pomegranates & Figs: A Feast of Jewish Music" features sounds from across Eastern Europe, the Balkans and the Mediterranean with Kitka, the Bay Area's celebrated all-women vocal ensemble, and Teslim, a remarkable string duo launched last year by veteran klezmer violinist Kaila Flexer and Gari Hegedus on oud, mandocello, and Greek and Turkish lutes.
Teslim also joins forces with the Gonifs, a potent klezmer band with Jeanette Lewicki on vocals and accordion and special guest violinists Julian Smedly, Shira Kammen and Leah Wollenberg.
