Terra Mariza 4/3
O's Notes: Terra sings with a soaring intensity on fourteen songs in the Portuguese 'fado' style. She has strong musical accompaniment with guitarist Dominic Miller. Ivan Lins (p) makes a guest appearance on "As Guitarras" and Chucho Valdes plays piano on "Fronteira". The beauty of Terra's voice rings clear on all tracks especially the classic fado tunes "Já Me Deixou" and "Ross Branca". While the traditional songs were rich with emotion, we were also impressed with the bonus track, "Smile" that has English lyrics.
