Downs gets jazzier, funkier and a tad more experimental with this latest release, blending Latin rhythms with klezmer influences, blues and prime examples of her wide vocal range. Downs pulls off a powerful, horn-driven rendition of Peter Green's "Black Magic Woman" with New York City musician Raul Midón. The CD will aptly prepare you for her visit to Centennial Hall in April.
