Noche Latina, CD Review >>

Don’t let Federico Aubele’s innocent-looking face and large amass of curly hair fool you; the Argentinean artist brings fans an arrangement of love-drenched ballads in his newest Spanish-language album, Amatoria.  His latest release, inspired by traditional tango and bolero from Aubele’s childhood in Buenos Aires, is an intimate look into the underrated subject of courting a potential flame.  Produced entirely by Aubele, Amatoria features collaborations with fellow musicians Sabina Sciubba, Natalia Clavier, and Miho Hatori, creating a collection of heartfelt melodies that’ll put anyone in the mood for love.

A few of the highlights from Amatoria is “Luna y Sol,” which resembles a sun-kissed reggae chant for making out. In the chorus, Aubele’s deep voice is accompanied by soft female vocals, making for a soothing pair.  Another single worth listening to is “Hermosa.” Yes it has the least lyrics than any other song in Amatoria, but it contains the most profound message.  In addition, Amatoria isn't strictly bound by bolero and tango sounds. There are also electronic beats blended into some of the tracks, such as “Siempre Nuevo” and “El Sabor,” ideal to getting close to your soon-to-be hookup on the dance floor.

Amatoria takes listeners through the rollercoaster ride that is love and proves to be a testament of Aubele’s passion, the perfect soundtrack for Valentine’s Day.
