Two of the leading figures in African music converge at Ravinia Festival, for an evening that should have everyone dancing in the aisles. Kuti, the son of Nigerian saxophonist and activist Fela Kuti, blends funk and jazz with firebrand lyrics in a style that has become family tradition. Sunny Ade is Afro-pop royalty, his huge band sending out waves of percussion to support the leader's keening vocals and supple, spidery guitar playing.
