In the wake of the Bosnian War, being an internationally known Bosnian musician might afford one a sky-high soap box to speak out about the atrocities of war and the importance of ethnic and religious tolerance, but that's a position composer Goran Bregovic would rather not take. "I am a musician, and my profession has nothing to do with politics," he told Bulgaria's Sofia News Agency in 2008. "My language is comprehensive in contrast to the politicians' one." He ain't kidding about that comprehensiveness: His current gig, the 40-piece Weddings And Funerals Orchestra (playing Bass Concert Hall tonight) incorporates brass, bagpipes, strings, a Serbian choir, and singers of Bulgarian and Romani descent.
