Marseilles-based Watcha Clan perform world-beat dance concert at MCLA tonight (BERKSHIRE LIVING) NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - With a socially progressive agenda and a complex tapestry of musical styles, Marseilles-based Watcha Clan, which performs tonight at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in the Venable Gymnasium at 7:30, combines Eastern European melodies with Algerian blues, cherifian grooves and hip-hop to form music that sings with the freedom of travelling people. NPR Music says, “Watcha Clan is one of the most exciting bands I’ve seen on the world music circuit.”
