NPR's All Songs Considered, Concert Preview >>

If you're in New York on Sunday, Jan. 10, and have any love for world music, get yourself to Webster Hall. You may not know a single band, but that's okay: The folks putting on GlobalFEST do. Last year's GlobalFEST was a huge treat for me, and you can still hear some of those shows on our Web site.

If you're not in New York, I am, and I'll be running from stage to stage -- there are three at Webster Hall -- to hear as much music as I can. Afropop's Banning Eyre will be there, as will WFMU's Rob Weisberg. On Monday, the three of us will gather in a studio along with recordings from GlobalFEST to talk about what we loved. We'll put that conversation, along with the music, on this week's All Songs Considered Tuesday. (There won't be a show on Monday.) Also, thanks to the folks at GlobalFEST, we'll roll out many of these concerts online at NPR Music.

Last year, I was a kid in a candy store; this year, we're all in for a treat, so spread the word.
