Artists To Hear in 2010

The new year will see new releases from indie-pop group Vampire Weekend, smooth operator Sade, and a collaboration between Charlotte Gainsbourg and Beck. Albums from Janet Jackson and Outkast are expected, as well. Today: a look at artists and albums to watch in 2010. Plus: live music from Meta and the Cornerstones.

New Year, New Music

Forgot all those end-of-year recaps and best-albums lists. It's time to look forward. Today, we hear about upcoming albums from veteran artists -- and new artists expected to make a splash in 2010. Joining us with his predictions is Mike Conklin, music editor of The L magazine.

2010: What to watch in music technology

A new decade means new innovations in music devices and services. Paul Resnikoff, editor of DigitalMusicNews.com, fills us in on the bounty of innovations, from a Google smartphone to the next generation of online music services.

Meta and the Cornerstones

The six members of the the Brooklyn-based group Meta and the Cornerstones fuse Afro-pop, hip-hop, rock and soul. The band's Senegalese-born leader, Meta Dia, sings in English, French, Wolof and Fulani. He and the group join us to play songs from their debut album, Forward Music.
