Cedric Watson Featured on Music Voyager’s ROAD TO A GRAMMY

Music Voyager  (www.musicvoyager.com) a new music and travel series that begins broadcasting in early February 2010 in North America on PBS and internationally on Nat Geo Music & Adventure channel and other international networks, is profiling and filming Cedric Watson along with his band, Bijou Créole, as part of its ROAD TO A GRAMMY special. The band’s new album, L’Ésprit Créole (Valcour Records), is nominated for a GRAMMY in the ‘Best Zydeco or Cajun Album’ category.

The series’ host, acclaimed ethnomusicologist and international music record producer Jacob Edgar, has been on the road visiting with GRAMMY nominees in anticipation of the 52nd GRAMMY Awards on January 31st.

The ROAD TO A GRAMMY episodes will air this spring, after the Music Voyager series launches with musical expeditions to India and Jamaica. The special gives fans a more personal experience by showing them the road that has brought Cedric to his GRAMMY nomination(s), along with giving viewers an exclusive look at his personal background and inspirations.

Global visitors are invited through the series to meet the artist, share in the anticipation and even influence the filming of the broadcast as it progresses. Webisodes and ‘Rough Cuts from the Road’ are posted on Music Voyager’s youtube channel (www.youtube.com/themusicvoyager) to give fans an immediate behind the scenes look.

All of the artists nominated for a GRAMMY in the ‘Best Zydeco or Cajun Album’ category will be included with Cedric in the ROAD TO A GRAMMY episode, including Cedric, Michael Doucet, the Magnolia Sisters, Buckwheat Zydeco, and the Pineleaf Boys.
