Granted, Eileen Ivers was a fiddler in the production. But she knows who great dancers are.
Ivers asked Jill Crawford at Salt Lake City's Crawford School of Irish Dance to recommend five dancers to perform in her multimedia concert, "Beyond the Bog Road," which has three performances scheduled in Utah this week.
Performing with any live music is great, says Crawford, but especially with an original "Riverdance" performer. That connection led to local dancers Rachel Jepson, Chloe Dean, Moira Turner, Clare Duignan and Katie Register being
asked to dance reels and jigs in Ivers' concert, which uses live music, dancing and videos to document the Irish immigration experience in America."It was a long time coming," said Ivers, 44, raised in the Bronx by proud Irish immigrants.
