Hello, it's Todd

Todd Rundgren, the '70s pop performer and producer probably best known for "Hello It's Me," comes to the Cubby Bear North this weekend, touring behind his new album interpreting the delta blues of Robert Johnson. It should provide a little grit to complement his usual pop sheen.

8:30 p.m. today at the Cubby Bear North, 21661 N. Milwaukee Ave., Lincolnshire. General-admission tickets are $40 with doors opening at 7:30 p.m.; VIP tickets are $60 and include dinner entree and a shared appetizer, with a 6 p.m. entry. Call (847) 541-4700 or visit tix.com.

King of Old Town

In the early '80s, Nigeria's King Sunny Ade & His African Beats put on one of the best performances the city has ever seen at the last ChicagoFest. Ade's band scattered and his career sputtered, but now he's got the band back together for pair of gigs at the Old Town School of Folk Music.

7 and 10 p.m. today at the Old Town School, 4544 N. Lincoln Ave., Chicago. $38, $36 for Old Town members, $34 for seniors. Call (773) 728-6000.

College Gospel Fest

Gospel music rises like spring fever after Easter, and Naperville plays host to a Gospel Fest featuring Darius Brooks and the Community Mass Choir this weekend.

7 p.m. Saturday, April 17, in the Wentz Concert Hall and Fine Arts Center at North Central College, 171 E. Chicago Ave., Naperville. Tickets are $10 to $20. Call (630) 637-7469 or visit northcentralcollege.edu/show.
