As it appeared in don the beachcomber’s secret “little black book”:

● ½ lime
● ½ orange
● ¼ #2
● ¼ #4
● 2 St. Croix
● Dash #8

And here it is, decoded 70 years later by Tikiphile Jeff Berry:

● ½ oz. fresh lime juice
● ½ oz. orange juice
● ¼ oz. allspice-vanilla syrup
● ¼ oz. cinnamon syrup
● 2 oz. gold Virgin Islands rum
● Dash Angostura bitters
● Combine all ingredients in an electric blender with 4 ounces of crushed ice. Blend at high speed for 3 to 5 seconds, maximum. Pour unstrained into a tall glass. Garnish with a long strip of orange peel, half-in, half-out of glass.
