Afro Beat Dance Party for World Refugee Day

D.C. African roots band Elikeh featured with traditional African dinner. Party to celebrate World Refugee Day and dinner proceeds buy school supplies for refugee children.

World Refugee Day was first organized to support the tens of millions of people who have been forced to leave their homes because of war. This year, Baltimore is commemorating the day with help from Creative Alliance's On the Avenue/Por la Avenida and the Baltimore Resettlement Center. The African roots band Elikeh and a traditional African dinner help build a sense of community between locals and those who are thousands of miles away from their original home.
