BoxBalkan Beat

Balkan Beat Box make their Toronto debut Sunday night (Sep 5) as part of the 15th annual Ashkenaz Festival at Harbourfront, and judging by their sound, I think the show's going to be riot. Their latest album, Blue Eyed Black Boy, is a groove-heavy mix of hip-hop, Mediterranean, Arabic, and dancehall music. The group calls its music "globalized urban mash-ups" and it's hard to disagree with that tag.  09/02/10 >> go there
