Royal Wood and Hannah Georgas

Margaret Greenham Theatre
Tickets: Adult $20 | Senior/Student/Youth/Child $18 | Series Subscriber $17*

A special double-bill featuring two of Canada's finest, new singer-songwriters. A talented multi-instrumentalist with a sweet tenor voice and a knack for enchanting folk-pop tunes and lyrics, Royal Wood is well on his way to becoming one of Canada's premier songrwiters and performers. Drawing comparisons to greats like Ron Sexsmith and Rufus Wainright and now existing as one of their peers, he has spent years perfecting his craft of balladry and pop music. Now with a superb new album out called "The Waiting', his career is building with an ever growing fanbase, critical acclaim and impressive musical achievements including performances at major festivals, concerts with Serena Ryder, Sarah Harmer and opening for David Gray, and being named last year's iTunes Songwriter of the Year. Nominated for the 2010 Polaris Prize, Vancouver's Hannah Georgas is an infectious singer-songwriter who's new album 'This Is Good' simply won't leave your head. Her collection of pop-roots musical nuggets ranging from rock, electro pop to spunky folk are like colourful cocktails that blend distilled emotion and grounded perspective. Indeed this infectious, very talented indie artist has managed to become one of the most successful Canadians you've probably not heard but that's all about to change. Both artists will be accompanied by their bands on this tour.
