while the distinguished polaris prize, recognizing artistic merit in lieu of commercial success, went to montreal’s karkwa (whose awesome take away show can be viewed after the jump) and their album les chemin de verre, wwm favorites and nominees tegan and sara on hand to perform the sainthood track “the ocean” with a few strings attached, in the form of fellow nominee owen pallett. standing ovation indeed, and congrats to karkwa for the award.
