Show for Linguistic Equality set for Oct. 16
Published Wednesday September 22nd, 2010

The Show for Linguistic Equality will take place at Oxygen Nightclub on Oct. 16 starting at 8 p.m.

The show aims to celebrate bilingualism and promote linguistic equality.

The show will feature headliners Radio Radio, an Acadian hip-hop trio from Moncton and Baine-Sainte-Marie, Nova Scotia.

The group was recently nominated for the Polaris Prize and several Adisq award, which are handed out at the Quebec music industry's awards gala.

The event will take place the same day as the Great Walk for linguistic equality.

Both events have the same goal, which is to focus on the bridges and harmony that have been built between Metro Moncton language communities over the years rather than the sensationalized exceptions that are sometimes magnified.

The show will also feature Olivier Jarda, an Ottawa-born folk singer songwriter of Haitian parents who spent most of his childhood in Moncton.

Fayo, an Acadian singer songwriter, who has been recognized by the Prix Eloizes, will also participate.
