Karkwa wins the Polaris Prize!
Written By Ricky, Music ,Comments (0)

Toronto – After what appeared to be a marathon worthy of an Oscar broadcast, the Polaris Prize was finally announced and the winner was.. Karkwa, for the album Les chemins de verre, which I think translates to The Green Dog in English. I think the band plays in French, so I don’t know anything about them. However, a few trusted twitter friends of mine are big fans of their live acts so I think I might check them out the next time they are in town. Here’s a tune from them:

The highlight performance for me during the webcast was Caribou’s show ending performance of Odessa, which sounded really kick ass and made me regret not going to see his show on Friday. I only saw the last hour, which consisted of performances by Teagan and Sarah, then random crowd shots of people drinking and having a good time, followed by Caribou, followed by further crowd shots. So I don’t have much to compare that performance to.

Anyways, congrats to Karkwa!

or as they say in Quebec

félicitations au karkwa pour gagner le prix d’étoile polaire!

Also, congratulations to me for getting this post up so quick.
