Canada's Polaris Prize to be Awarded Tonight

The Polaris Prize, given to a Canadian musician or group based solely on artistic merit, will be awarded Monday, Sept. 20th in a gala ceremony in Toronto. Now in its fifth year, the Polaris has a history of going for edgy or unusual artists rather that commercially successful ones.

This year's Polaris Prize nominees include popular rockers Broken Social Scene, Somali-Canadian rapper Shad, pop-folk sister group Tegan and Sara, and Americana band The Sadies; see the complete list of nominees at the blog post below.
