Description
The Celtic knot and Celtic music have something in common: a braid looping back upon itself, repetition in the service of Bach-like intricacy that makes every Celtic artist a technician. Every really accomplished Celtic musician is a mathematician and Eileen Ivers is no exception: this Bronx-bred, seven-time all-Ireland fiddle champ has a post-grad degree in math. Called the "future of the Celtic fiddle," Ivers has guest-starred with 40 symphony orchestras and played on movie soundtracks, most notably Gangs of New York.
