All-Ireland fiddler Eileen Ivers going coast to coast

Irish-American fiddler Eileen Ivers has announced another American tour, beginning next week in Orangeburg, NY and continuing with stops along the East Coast, the Midwest, the West Coast before finishing up in May back in New York state.

Ivers, who has won numerous All-Ireland Fiddle Championships and several Grammy Awards, co-founded the famed group Cherish the Ladies and has toured with The Chieftains.

The brilliant fiddler has been described as a musician who “can keep up with classical virtuosi while keeping up the warmth of a kitchen party…She can shred, play reels through a crybaby pedal, inspire with a bittersweet air and with her signature intensity, all while transmitting her deep love for tradition.”

Her repertoire has “connected the Celtic dots from Galicia to the Canadian Maritimes, from 17th-century songs to high-energy originals,” and audiences can look forward to Ivers and her band Immigrant Soul bringing their singular sound to thirteen cities across the country.

Ivers, describing her and her band’s relationship to musical performance, comments that “the music is always the star, but we’re performing artists. It’s a balance we’ve learned to strike. It’s a privilege to be up there on stage, and we love it.”
