globalFEST Comes to NYC in January 2011
By Radio Morillo

Being pretty bummed about missing this year’s Rainforest World Music Festival, I perked up as soon as I found out about globalFEST, a one-night world music festival taking place at Webster Hall in New York City.

Featuring acts such as the Creole Choir of Cuba, Diblo Dibala, Mustafa Özarslan and Novalima (who performed at the Rainforest World Music Festival this past summer), the event promises to present some of the most exciting acts in world music. Three acts have their U.S. debuts at the festival.

globalFEST takes place  at 7pm, January 9, 2011 in Webster Hall. For ticket information, click HERE.

Here’s the lineup for globalFEST NYC:

Chamber Music: Ballaké Sissoko & Vincent Segal (U.S. debut)
Creole Choir of Cuba
Diblo Dibala
Kaumakaiwa Kanaka’ole (NY solo debut)

Mustafa Özarslan (U.S. debut)
Novalima
Orquestra Contemporânea de Olinda
