A Hawk and A Hacksaw performs at The Satellite on Wednesday 2 March
Some people will say that it is impossible to do anything new in music. And maybe that's true. Maybe those folks know more about music than the rest of us. But maybe those people have never heard A Hawk and A Hacksaw, comprising Jeremy Barnes (Neutral Milk Hotel) and Heather Trost. Now, I could sit here and try to explain that this band makes music that sounds like it is played by a group of Romani that has migrated to a Mexican border town, but that is either unbelievable or insufficient. All I can say for certain is that this doesn't sound like any other group I've ever encountered. Go ahead. Check out some of this band's songs for yourself.
A Hawk and A Hacksaw is coming to LA to support its latest album Cervantine (LM Duplication, 2011). You can see the band at The Satellite on Wednesday 2 March. Tickets for this show are $12. That seems a small price to pay for an experience that you wouldn't get very often, or at least only as often as this band comes to town.
