Despite lacking name recognition in the U.S. outside of their notoriously hardcore fanbase, The Saw Doctors are arguably Ireland’s biggest rock band—well, outside of U2, of course. The band’s scored 18 top 30 hits in their native country, including “I Useta Lover,” which topped the charts for nine weeks in 1990 and holds the record as Ireland’s top-selling single to this day. And while they may not have quite the following as their fellow Irishmen in U2, they haven’t been shy about poking fun at their better-known countrymen, taking the piss in their 1988 film, Crackle And Buzz, a riff on the infamously bloated concert film/documentary Rattle And Hum. 03/21/11 >> go there
