Baker and Taylor - CD Hotlist, Album Review >>
If your only exposure to Canadian folk music comes by way of Louisiana's transplanted Cajuns (or Gordon Lightfoot's 1970s folk-pop), then by all means take this opportunity to hear what Quebecois folk sounds like today. The members of De Temps Antan (their name is an obscure French pun) deliver all the call-and-response songs, rollicking "crooked" tunes, and stomping rhythms that fans of the genre will expect, and do it in a way that newcomers are likely to find irresistible. If you can listen to this music without dancing, there's probably something wrong with you. Highly recommended. (RA) 08/18/11 >> go there
