Hillside Festival 2011 July 22 to 24
Once again, Guelph, ON is home to the Hillside Festival, a weekend-long celebration of the best in Canadian and international independent music. This year, the 28th edition of the long-running festival will hit the Guelph Lake conservation area from July 22 to 24, where a slew of excellent artists will treat campers and concert-goers to three days of live Canadian ear candy. Exclaim! is getting in on the fun, presenting last year's Polaris Music Prize winners Karkwa and Montreal noir-poppers The Dears on Friday, orchestral pop outfit Lost in the Trees and rock troupe Hollerado on Saturday, and Seun Kuti and Egypt 80, on Sunday. Surprise headliners Sloan will close the festival Sunday, July 24 That's not all, though: there are many more fantastic acts appearing at this year's festival including the Rural Alberta Advantage, Hannah Georgas, the Midway State, Mother Mother, Shad, Braids, Kevin Drew, One Hundred Dollars and Grimes just for starters.
