Get Out There: The CBC Radio 3 Music Festival Survival Guide

Posted by Jacqueline Ronson on May 26, 2011

Summer is nearly here! What’s the best thing about this season? Music festivals!

Like many Canadian music fans, I already have a few festivals in mind that I absolutely have to get to this summer.

But I’ve been wondering: How much planning should I really put in before I show up to a festival I’ve never been to before? Will I get more out of it if I plan everything out carefully, or just wing it?

A couple weeks ago, I asked you for your tips. I also talked to festival veterans Christine McAvoy and John Teeter, who gave me some really great advice.

I then spoke with Dan Mangan, who gave me an insider’s look on how musicians prepare for the festival season.

Now I can confidently say that I know everything there is to know about how to survive, and thrive, at any festival.

Well, maybe not everything. But I certainly picked up a few good tips!

Have a listen, and let me know what you think:
