Mali Blues

Malian guitarist Boubacar Traore is considered one of the great exponents of African blues. In the early 60's, he was a celebrity in his native Mali. After a military coup in 1968, he returned to his village and became a farmer. He was rediscovered by an English producer in the late 80's, released several albums in the 90's and began touring again. His new album is titled "Mali Denhou", and it is his first album in 6 years. Our music columnist Errol Nazareth brought it in for a taste.
