Old Town School of Folk Music
Lincoln Square landmark the Old Town School of Folk Music, second home to countless roots-jamming Chicagoans over the years, will put out Live From the Old Town School on Tue 12/13. The four-volume, 127-track set, released by Old Town School Recordings (natch), is culled from a vast archive that spans more than five decades; it includes onstage performances from folk and world-music artists as diverse as Donovan, Pete Seeger, Toumani Diabate, Steve Earle, Joan Baez, and Oumou Sangare. Proceeds will benefit the school. 11/15/11 >> go there
