Around Town Free Events This Week: X-Ray Art, Sanedrachunter, 786By Kathleen Elise Mon., Mar. 19 2012 at 8:30 AM Categories: Around Town SpinnZinn DJs this Tuesday at Haven ?Miami Music Week and Winter Music Conference combine to make this week pretty freaking great. Sadly, not all of us are able (or willing) to shill out hundreds of dollars for access to associated shows...and we haven't even mentioned the ever-popular musical and monetary clusterfuck that is Ultra Music Fest. Whether you're untz-untzing all weekend or simply trying to avoid those who are, there's no lack of free art, music, and movie affairs to keep you happy and out of the house. Read on for what's good and cheap in Miami this week. ?Monday X-Ray: Nick Veasey's unique x-ray photos focus on items you won't typically find in a doctor's office. They're currently on display at Gregg Shienbaum Fine Art. Tuesday Road to Hollywood Tour: Turner Classic Movies screens a newly restored version of Elmer Gantry (1960) at the Gusman Center for the Performing Arts. Academy Award winner Shirley Jones, who plays a vindictive prostitute in the film, makes a special appearance at the Miami showing. Free tickets are available here. Sanedrachunter Presents MMW-WMC 2012: Underground electronic goodness at Haven featuring DJs SpinnZinn, Stryke, Rod B. and Angelo Fracalanza. Free for women and MMW/WMC badge holders, but men have to pay a $10 cover. Sorry, boys. ?Wednesday 786: Purdy Lounge hosts sets by Joshy Josh, Ray Milian and Norman V. 'Good music, good people' says it all. ?Thursday Kali Mutsa: Chile's gypsy-electronic band hit up PAX after making their US debut at SXSW.  03/19/12 >> go there
