An international summit of Native American, Inuit, Métis and indigenous musicians is returning to Winnipeg. As it does every year Aboriginal Music Week 2o12 (October 30 – November 4) will bring together First Nations rockers, rappers, DJs, throat singers and country musicians for a week long festival highlighting a burgeoning global movement of urbanized indigenous youth.

Now that the line-up has been announced, we can tell you without any doubt that it will be a party. First of all, A Tribe Called Red will be there with Zuzuka Poderosa. Apache guitarist Stevie Salas will be tearing up the stage. Also, Tanya Tagaq, who will blow your mind and was on Björk’s album Medulla. For the full line-up check out the Aboriginal Music Week website and or like them on Facebook for updates. Tell us your favorite indigenous musician in the comments to win props. (Subject to some restrictions.)
