It's a big week for aboriginal culture and music in Winnipeg, as both Aboriginal Music Week and the Manito Ahbee Festival have kicked off in the city.

Venues around Winnipeg are hosting concerts, workshops and other events through Nov. 4.

Aboriginal Music Week showcases a variety of indigenous artists performing hip-hop, electronic, world, folk, rock, country and blues music.

The Manito Ahbee Festival includes the Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards and an international competition powwow.
