Kodo, an acclaimed Japanese drumming troupe, will visit Lafyatte College next week.

The group, which puts a modern spin on traditional Japanese drumming, will perform Wednesday, March 20 at 8 p.m. at the college's Williams Center.

"Often referred to as 'samurai percussionists,' Kodo transforms the concert experience into a thrill ride while striving to preserve traditional Japanese drumming and reinterpret it in new and exciting ways," the school said in a news release.

Tickets for the show are $35 and are very limited.

You can get them by calling the box office at (610) 330-5009 weekdays between noon and 2 p.m., 4 to 5 p.m. and one hour before the show. Stand-by tickets will be sold at 7 p.m. the day of the performance.

Before the show, music professor/department head J. Larry Stockton will give a talk about Kodo and Japanese music in general at 7 p.m. in room 108 of the Williams Center.
